One Life - Part 11
Derick finally got admitted into a vocational institute after almost a year of idling. He hadn't been lazing around though. He had been busy taking care of his niece, watching her grow. He wasn't very keen in returning to school at first but soon realised that it was more fun than playing with his niece. He had befriended a new group of friends who shared the same interest as him - they all enjoyed watching and disturbing the opposite sex. They would loiter at shopping malls after school, doing all kinds of 'tricks' in the hope of getting the attention of passing gals. Sometimes, they would even trail pretty gals till they called for help.
Once, they decided to try a new trick. They walked into the lingerie section of a departmental store. They told the salesgal that they wanted to buy a pair of bra for a friend as a surprise gift. They asked the salesgal for her size as they claimed that her figure was identical to that of their friend. She obliged unwillingly. Upon hearing that the guys wowed so loudly and repeated what she said much to the embarrassment of the lady. Next, they asked her to try on a pair that they had chosen so that they could 'visualise' how it would look like on their friend. Shocked by their request, she didn't know how to react. A colleague who had witnessed the commotion had called for the security guard. When approached by the guard, the boys claimed that it wasn't illegal for guys to buy undergarment for their female friends. The boys eventually bought a pair of bra to prove that they were serious about buying it. They gave the 'gift' to Derick since there were more female than male in his house.
Derick didn't give the 'gift' to his mother or sisters. Instead, he had kept it for himself. He had always loved the feel and the smell of a bra. In fact, it had become some sort of an addiction. He took a sniff of it. Somethng was missing. The bra was new and the feminie odour was missing. He realised then that he needed to get a fresh supply of 'worn bra' as he had got sick of sniffing those of his mother's and sisters'. Thus, he had a new aim in life - to build up a collection of 'tried and wore' brassiere.
Trina didn't do well enough for her 'N' level to be promoted to sec. 5 and since her mother didn't want her to continue her studies at the ITE, she got herself a job at a neighbourhood bookshop. The shop belonged to a young couple, Bert and Enny, who also man the bookshop at Trina's school. In fact, Trina had been working for them since sec. 1 during each of the year-end holidays when extra help was needed to cope with the sales of textbooks for the coming year. Trina had always managed to earn enough to buy her own set of textbooks and sometimes Enny would reward her with stationery for her diligence. When the couple heard that Trina was looking for a job, they offered her one at their main shop as Enny was pregnant then and they needed somebody they could trust to help man the shop.
Trina couldn't believe that she was working full time at bookshop as she had always liked the couple who had been kind to her and had treated her warmly unlike her family members who had treated her coldly, if not cruelly. She vowed to work hard so as to repay them for their kindness and their trust in her but somehow that was not always possible when she had a mother like hers. Once in a while, her mother would drop by especially when Derick needed some stationery. She would pretend to be checking on Trina and when the boss wasn't looking, she would take what she wanted and leave without paying. Though Trina knew what her mother was doing, she couldn't possibly tell her employer about it. However, she didn't feel good about deceiving them either so most of the time she would put whatever amount she had with her into the till secretly and top-up the difference when she got paid. Fortunately, her mother didn't 'visit' her often and stocks were checked only at the end of each month so Trina was able to keep everything under wrap.
